Upcoming Metro Line in Thane
There is a good news for people who are planning to buy a property in thane or already have a flats in Thane, that your traveling will be made convenient, as in the coming years you’ll get to travel home from office in Metro as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has approved a 32 km metro line between Thane and Mumbai, in order to boost connectivity between Mumbai and its peripheral region.
This 32 km metro project which will cover Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Kesarwadavali which will have 32 stations and cost around 14,549 crore, and is expected to be completed by 2021. After the commencement of the Metro services the distance between Wadala and Kesarwadavali is expected to be completed within 64 minutes.
The 32 stations are Bhakti Park Metro, Wadala TT, Anik Nagar Bus Depot, Suman Nagar, Siddharth Colony, Amar Mahal Junction, Garodia Nagar, Pant Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Shreyas Cinema, Godrej Company, Vikhroli Metro, Surya Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Naval Housing, Bhandup Mahapalika, Bhandup Metro, Shangrila, Sonapur, Mulund Fire Station, Mulund Naka, Teen Haath Naka (Thane), RTO Thane, Mahapalika Marg, Cadbury Junction, Majiwada, Kapurbawdi, Manpada, Tikuji-ni-wadi, Dongri Pada, Vijay Garden, Kasarvadavali.
The project will connect Thane and Mumbai with a modern public transport system i.e Metro, and this will have a huge impact on the development. Devendra Fadnavis, Chairman of MMRDA, approved this project during a meeting of the MMRDA.
Considering the population of working class residing in Thane and Kalyan, a decision was taken to start a metro line in this region. If we look at the facts, most of the suburban rails have passenger volume which is quite more than the passenger loading capacity of the suburban railway causing a lot of discomfort to the commuters.
